Why Mindfulness
Consciousness is awareness of our internal and external state. It is the only thing that truly is. Most of us spend the majority of our waking hours lost in thoughts of the past or future. Mindfulness is an opportunity, an invitation, to be present to our own nature – our lived experience! Being truly alive is maintaining this awareness.
When your experience changes, your emotional state changes with it. We can use mindfulness to choose our response! By choosing healthy, positive responses we can relate to ourselves and others with kindness, acceptance and compassion. And it’s a two-way street: when you gain control over your emotional response to the circumstances of life, you’ll notice your experiences changing for the positive!
Mindfulness brings awareness to consciousness arising in every moment. Consciousness is the connection between body and mind, between spirit and matter, between the conscious and the subconscious mind. Consciousness connects us to each other, and to our own nature, our source. It is the lived connection to All that is!
Every psychological state, every emotional state, every physiological state is coming and going. The Creator is creating this very moment for us. Mindfulness cultivates equanimity with our perceived reality and creates the space for faith in the goodness of creation.
